Jeanne Carpenter ACS CCP™ Bio
Jeanne Carpenter is a cheese geek, but she didn’t start out that way. Raised on Velveeta on a family farm in Wisconsin, after college she worked six years as an award-winning journalist. After getting trapped in the corporate world, she escaped her cubicle and served as a spokesperson for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, which led to the development of the Dairy Business Innovation Center, a non-profit widely credited for helping reinvigorate the Wisconsin dairy industry in the 2000’s.
Today, you’ll find her managing the specialty cheese department at Metcalfe’s Market-Hilldale in Madison, happily cutting, wrapping and smelling of cheese. In her spare time, she organizes events for her favorite organizations: Wisconsin Cheese Originals and the Wisconsin Artisan Cheesemaker Guild. Her motto is: Have Fun. Do Good. Eat Cheese.
