As mentioned in the last post, The Lady is back in the kitchen and all is right with the cheese world here at The Manse. The Man is one happy camper and I am one happy kitty…
The Lady made grilled cheese sammies today for lunch using Beecher’s Handmade Cheese’s Raw Milk Flagship which she bought in Seattle at the QFC at University Place with a little of their Flagsheep added to make the sammies good and gooey. She added slices of Foster Farms Roasted Turkey and caramelized onions which she made using this recipe from simplyrecipes.com.
Ingredients:
EVOO
Whole Grain Bread
Beecher’s Raw Milk Flagship
Beecher’s Flagsheep
Foster Farms Roasted Turkey
Caramelized Onions
Grate cheeses – they melt better when grated.
Spread EVOO on one side of bread and place oiled side down on heated griddle.
Add a layer of cheese.
Add a layer of Turkey.
Add a layer of caramelized onions.
Add another layer of cheese.
Place slice of bread on top. Spread EVOO on bread top.
Grill slowly to give cheese time to melt and avoid burning bread.
Flip once, grilling to a golden brown.
Remove from grill. Cut in half and serve while gooey and hot.
The Lady served with Parmesan Baked-not-Fried French Fries.
April is Grilled Cheese Month… stay tuned…
