Well… we finally made it to the 30th grilled Sammy to celebrate National Grilled Cheese Month…only about 90 days after the conclusion of the month… but better late than ever…
Our final grilled sammy is also open-faced… and celebrates the bounty of the summer garden’s tomatoes and fresh herbs.
Here’s what The Lady did:
Ingredients:
Rustic Bread
Vermont Butter and Cheese Butter with Salt Crystals
Crave Brothers Fresh Mozzarella, sliced
tomatoes, Sliced
Fresh Garden Basil, chopped
EVOO
Balsamic Vinegar
Salt and Pepper to taste
Preparations:
Spread the butter on one side of your bread and place in toaster oven using “Broil” setting. Let the butter melt and give the edges time to brown.
Build you sammy with a layer of mozzarella, tomatoes, basil. Place back in toaster oven and let the cheese melt and brown slightly.
Drizzle the top with oil and vinegar. Sprinkle with salt and pepper is desired.
