The American Cheese Society has announced its class of 2014 Certified Cheese Professionals. 153 join the 253 who sat for and passed the exam in 2012 and 2013 bringing the total of CCPs in North America to 406!!
I’d like to also congratulate those who sat for the exam but unfortunately did not pass: think of everything new that you have learned; that you can share everyday with your colleagues and customers. The fact that you studied and prepared for the exam and took it, makes you a winner in my book!!!
Congratulations and welcome to our “elite” group of Certified Cheese Professionals who strive everyday to further hone our craft and continue to explore the world of cheese. The complete list of ACS CCPs. I’d like to send a special “Shout-out” to friends who joined “the club” this year:
Alicia Ball**, Adam Burstein, Iris Busjahn**, Jeanne Carpenter, Elizabeth Chubbuck, James Danforth, Jill Davis, Chelsea Faris, Stephen Garcia, Craig Gile, Jeff Johnson, Sue Kargl, Lauren LaFontaine, Beth Peterson**, Jessica Reichert, Laurel Ross**, James Stahl, Shannon Strom**and Kate True.
I know it goes without saying but I caution you to not fall into the trap of “Now that I have mastered my job; I have nothing left to learn”… and yes, as hard as it is to believe… someone (thankfully, none of the 406) actually said that to me…
Everyday in cheese is another day to learn something new… Go forth and spread the curd word…
**Denotes CCPs that I had the pleasure to mentor through their preparation for the exam.
