Yesterday I fixed the third flavor in the selection – Premium Pepper Jack. Made with the same healthy and natural ingredients of the Seriously Sharp Cheddar and the Bacon versions, the Pepper Jack has added spice and heat from the Jalapeno peppers as listed on the Scoville scale.
As you can see from the photos, the velvety cheese sauce is filled with pepper powder. The pungency of the peppers comes first, finishing with the heat of the Jalapenos. It’s got heat but not too much for those less fond of heat. The more heat the better for me… for The Man not so much. Just like the Baby Bear, The Man said the Spiciness was “just right”.
Making Cabot Premium Mac n Cheese is so easy even a caveman can make it… assuming he has a pot, a stove and running water. From start to finish, less than 15 minutes; the majority watching the water boil…
While draining the cooked pasta (do not rinse) through a colander, add the milk and butter to the warm pot you cooked the pasta in and stir to melt the butter (better to use butter at room temperature – I keep a stick or two of butter out on the counter for everyday use). When melted and mixed, add the cheese powder. At that point stir the drained (but not rinsed) organic pasta back into the cheese sauce, stir to coat the pasta and stir to coat. Serve.
