Recently I assisted a candidate for our local City Council. She ran against a popular incumbent and while she didn’t win, she did capture 40% of the vote and made a few people sweat…
Election night, several supporters gathered at Sweet Combs of Honey to await results and celebrate the right (think obligation IMO) to vote.
I created a tray of cheeses from Tillamook Cheese, including 2 of the Maker’s Reserve Cheddars that are part of our Christmas Tillamook and Kelly’s Jelly giveaway that starts at Midnight tonight.
In addition to 2017 and 2018 vintages of Maker’s Reserve, the tray included English Style Sweet Cheddar (formerly known as Cape Meares), Garlic Chili Cheddar and Hickory Smoked Cheddar. The tray was a hit. It was a small group which fought over the leftovers to take home. I had anticipated this and brought along ovetene bags for our guests.
The Man and I have long been fans of Tillamook going back to our days in SoCal. The Man’s favorite is the Vintage Extra Sharp White Cheddar and we always had a loaf in the fridge. In 2009 Spaulding Gray voted it his favorite “Everyday Cheddar”. SG was my “favorite” Feline Foodie and he did love his cheese. In 2009 Tillamook Cheese named him their “Fan of the Month” and gifted him with a year of Tillamook Cheese. SG and The Man were in cheese heaven.
